I am the Batman. |
My name is Batman. Apart from this, I'm a girl, I'm 17, and I live near Paris. I like drawing, playing video games, watching movies, sleeping and eating. As for my future, I'm planning to become Adam Hughes or Dan LuVisi. Oh, and my other name is Caroline. But call me Batman. DEVIANTART |

Not less than a week ago, the picture on the left popped onto my dash with a bunch of notes that read “Haha YES!” “Omg my future husband”
Just now, the picture on the right appeared with a few comments about how stupid this armor was, how her stomach was exposed and how pink would be a horrible color to go into battle with.
You know what? BOTH ARE AMAZING EXAMPLES OF HALO COSPLAY AND NEITHER IS STUPID. BOTH HAVE THEIR MIDDLES EXPOSED, and so what? Why does the girl get hate notes about how “unrealistic” her costume is and the guy gets only praise?
Please. Stop. This. Costumes can be sexy for BOTH sexes and be acceptable. Cosplay is fluid and open to a lot of stuff, and bashing down on ANYONE for “sexing up” their costume is crude, horrible, and sexist.
My praise to both of these people, showing their love for HALO in a creative way.
THIS.
This isn’t exactly the point I was trying to make last week when I reblogged the dude, but this is another example of “god damn it people it’s none of your business”.
You know what? YES. They BOTH look awesome. NEITHER of them deserve to be shamed. If you have a problem with EITHER of them, I suggest you look at yourself and your own issues. This is a hobby, this is for fun. Do what you want for your own reasons. Don’t bring down other people for doing just that. IT DOESN’T AFFECT YOU GDI.
Why does this always pop up when I’m feeling super emotional?

So I just learned about it this weekend, but apparently Dr. Pepper decided that they wanted to be a boys’ club in their marketing for Dr. Pepper 10? Sure, you do that.
As I sort of glossed over in the video because it was getting long, I understand what they’re trying to accomplish with the commercial, at least—sort of an Old Spice Guy-style commercial to make everyone laugh and buy this product. But where the Old Spice campaign was presenting masculinity as something that doesn’t have to push women away (“it’s manly to be nice to women,” humorously and not condescendingly), this one … well. The intent of the campaign, as far as I can tell, is to show men that they can drink low-calorie beverages because Dr. Pepper 10 is still an awesome, manly, delicious drink. It’s sexist in the first place because it plays on the idea that it’s emasculating to watch your caloric intake/weight, but they take it way too far with the “no girls allowed” message. I know, it’s just a joke, haha, only it’s not a joke when it leans so heavily on gender roles and excluding women. It’s not funny when society actually works that way, and we’re kept in our place by our love for chick flicks and inability to appreciate explosions and the explosive 23 flavors of Dr. Pepper.
Moments after making this video, I used Dr. Pepper 10 to take my birth control pill. I really hope the ad executive who devised the campaign’s head just exploded.
….I find it funny how LOW CUT HER V NECK IS. I can’t hear what she’s saying, I keep looking at her little cleavage line that pops up a little over the edge of the video screen when she leans back or up. All I can hear in the back of my head is “Gurl, put on a cammie or something!”
And I find it funny that a video denouncing sexist marketing gets reblogged with slut-shaming commentary.
I almost changed for that reason, but then I remembered that I don’t need to cover myself up to be intelligent and/or a feminist. It’s not my problem if other people are distracted by cleavage!!
‘Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation’
Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed 3 will see release on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC later this year; however another installment of Assassin’s Creed will be joining it. Today it was revealed that Sony’s PlayStation Vita will be getting its own entry to the Assassin’s Creed series with a spinoff title known as Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation which is set to release along Assassin’s Creed 3 on October 30th.
First details on Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation have been shared today from the latest issue of Game Informer. Developed by Ubisoft Sofia, Liberation’s storyline won’t connect to Desmond; instead it will offer a different look at the Assassin/Templar conflict. The events of Liberation are described as a propaganda tool by Abstergo which will have players experience a grey area of the conflict from the view of an assassin rather than a Templar.
Despite this change, the magazine clearly states Liberation has “true Assassin’s Creed gameplay” as the game takes place in open areas where you can run, climb, fight and explore the entire city of New Orleans without loading a new area.
Set in New Orleans, Louisiana towards the conclusion of the French and Indian War between the years 1765-1780, Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation follows a female assassin named Aveline, who has a mixed heritage of French and Black. Aveline’s mentor is named Agate, the leader of the assassins within New Orleans, but is also an escaped slave. It is also said that Assassin’s Creed 3’s main character, Conner, will meet with Aveline during the game.
Wildlife like alligators will act as an environmental threat as they wait on the banks of the swamps and hide beneath the gloomy waters. Liberation will take players across the Gulf and into Mexico. New weapons will include a sugarcane machete, pistols, muskets, and grenades.
The magazine also shares that Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation will have a multiplayer created for Vita. A Vita exclusive will allow you to pick pocket using Vita’s touch mechanics. No additional details have been revealed at this time but expect to hear more at E3 2012 next week.
